Privacy Policy

Familiar ("we", "us") builds decision memory software for founders and teams. This page explains what we collect, why, and how it's handled — both on this waitlist site and, once you're using the product, inside Familiar itself.

What we collect today

Right now this site's only data collection is the private beta waitlist form. Submitting it sends us:

• → Your work email address
• → Your role (founder, engineer, eng leader or other), if selected
• → Your company name, if provided
• → Any free-text description of where your team loses context, if provided
• → The referring page and a timestamp

We don't use tracking cookies, analytics pixels or third-party ad scripts on this site.

How it's stored

Waitlist submissions are stored in a managed Postgres database (Supabase). The table only accepts new rows from this site — it has no public read access, so the form itself cannot be used to browse or export anyone else's submission.

How we use it

• → To let you know when a beta slot opens
• → To understand what teams need before we build for them
• → To reach out about your specific answers, if you invite that by writing to us

We do not sell or rent this information to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.

Once you're a Familiar user

When you connect GitHub, Slack, or add your own notes inside the product, that content is used to reconstruct decisions on your behalf. A few principles guide how it's handled:

• → Private by default. What you capture stays in your personal memory until you deliberately promote it to the team.
• → Human confirmed. Nothing becomes permanent team memory without a person approving it first.
• → Permission-checked. Access to a source (a repo, a channel) is checked before an answer is generated, not after.
• → Scoped to the connections you make. We only read what you explicitly connect, and only to answer questions about decisions and their context.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, at any time — including removing yourself from the waitlist. Email us and we'll handle it directly; there's no self-serve deletion flow yet because the product is still pre-launch.

Third parties

We use Supabase to host the waitlist database. As the product develops we may add processors for hosting, email delivery, or AI inference — this page will be updated before that happens, and we won't share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service.

Changes to this policy

As Familiar moves from waitlist to product, this policy will grow to cover the data connected through GitHub, Slack and other integrations in more detail. We'll update the date at the top whenever it changes.
